YELLOW POD CHOIR SCHEDULE CHANGE - IMPORTANT (this week only)

Due to photo retakes being in the gym Monday morning, we have to relocate for the day.  The band room can only safely accommodate 26 students at 2m distances.  Here is the change for next week only:

- F2, F3, F4, F5 please come at the regular time and meet in the band room *7:35-8:30
- F1, 6/7A, 6/7B, 6/7G, 6/7H, Hybrid please come WEDNESDAY at lunch and meet in the drama room at the start of your outdoor recess time *11:56-12:26

Music t-shirts are now available for ordering online ($15) using your school cash online account.  

Instruments and bell covers - all students should now have an instrument and a bell cover.  We are now midway through October and it will be difficult to catch up if you don't have an instrument yet.  Please arrange to have your instrument in hand no later than next week.  If you are having difficulty getting an instrument, please contact the music teachers right away.
Bell covers are also required for every class.  If you do not have a bell cover in class, you will NOT be playing.  

Fundraisers - we now have 2 fundraisers running for our music program: Poinsettias and Purdy's Chocolates.  Please visit our fundraising page (in the CHMPA tab) for more details.

Thank you for your patience as we have been planning a safe return to all of our music ensembles.

Updates:
Concert choir is now rehearsing.  Grade 6, 7, and 8 students are welcome (the schedule originally listed only grade 7/8).  Please do NOT attend if you are feeling unwell.  

Recording/Listening links are being posted to our website (link on the side column).  Please become familiar with the songs for your ensemble.  This will help us to be more efficient in class.

Strings classes have started for all grades.  Beginner strings students (all grades) should be attending grade 6 strings classes.  Extra help sessions for beginners are being offered for the month of October as follows:  
- Yellow pod:  Mondays at lunch  11:56-12:26 in the instrument storage room.  Please be prompt, as time is very limited.
- Green pod:  Fridays at lunch  12:36-1:06 in the instrument storage room.  Please be prompt, as time is very limited.

Band classes have completed their first week of playing.  Students should have all materials now:  instruments, method books, bell covers.  Students will not be permitted to play without a bell cover.
