It's hard to believe that a month has passed since our return to school after the break!
It has been a busy month. The grade 6 concert band played an excellent performance at our Open House last week. The ensemble playing and focus throughout the evening was outstanding! Thank you for representing Cedar Hill's music program so well.
The grade 8 students welcomed Reynolds fine arts program earlier in the month and were treated to sampling of music and other fine arts exhibits.
This month will focus on end-of-term playing tests and preparing for our spring concerts.
Please mark your calendars for our spring concerts: Tuesday, March 3rd and Wednesday, March 4th.
Concert Choir
Forms were handed out last week for our choral workshop and team building day. You can download a copy on our "Students" page. Please return the forms no later than Thursday, February 5th.
Vocal Jazz
Vocal Jazz has added a second rehearsal to the week. Grade 6-7-8 vocal jazz meets Tuesdays at lunch. Grade 7-8 vocal jazz continues to meet Thursdays following concert choir until 4:45 p.m.
Male Vocal Ensemble
The Male Vocal Ensemble is up and running and meets every Thursday at lunch. All male members of the concert choir are a part of this ensemble. The men will be performing at The Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival in April.
Attendance
Just a reminder that regular attendance at all rehearsals (before school, lunch, and after school) is expected and necessary for all ensembles to progress. Please be on time and ready to go. If you must miss a rehearsal, please let us know in person or in writing (ie. not through a friend).
CHMPA Meeting
The next CHMPA meeting will be held Tuesday, February 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.
