Just a reminder of start up for our ensembles:

Concert Band: This week!  Please bring your instruments to rehearsals.
Concert Choir: This Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.  If you miss it, you can still be in the choir, just show up to our Thursday after school rehearsal
Strings:  This Tuesday after school.  Please bring your instrument.
Show Choir: This Wednesday after school.

We are so incredibly happy to finally start the school year!  We are all really excited to see all our students again and meet our new ones!

For All Grade 6 Students and New Students to CHMS
The music room will be open every lunch and after school the first week of school for you to try out almost any instrument you want!  This will give you a very good idea of what instrument to choose when joining band or strings.  Parents are more than welcome to come in after school and speak with us too!

Students may try the: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello, and the Double Bass

Larsen Music Rental Night
For your convenience, The Larsen Music store (on Cook Street) will be coming into the school on Monday, September 29th from 5 - 7:30 p.m. for students to rent their instruments.  A lot of families find it easer to rent it from Larsen music when they are at Cedar Hill School rather than driving to their store on Cook Street.  Mrs. Romphf will also be there to help you and to answer your questions.

Jazz Band 7 will begin Monday at 3:00 pm on October 6th
Jazz Band 8 will begin Wednesday at 7:30 am on October 8th

Concert Choir will begin Tuesday at 7:30 am on September 30th
Jazz Choir will begin Thursday at 4:00 pm on October 9th 
(after Concert Choir rehearsal)
Show Choir will begin Wednesday at 3:00 pm on October 1st
Male Vocal Ensemble will begin Tuesday at Lunch on October 7th

String Ensembles will begin Tuesday at 3:00 pm on September 30th

Grade 8 Concert Band Students
Last year there was a problem getting the books in, students waiting over a month to get them, they were selling out throughout Victoria. So, we have pre-ordered all the books for you!  You may purchase your Gr. 8 band method book from the music program for $8/book.  Please see Mrs. Romphf in the music room for more details.
